Why Join

Dauwels Laboratory focuses on  algorithms for Big Data Analytics. Such algorithms are derived from the theory of statistical inference, allowing us to create rigorous tools with solid theoretical foundations. Two of our main application domains of big data analytics are (i) transportation systems and (ii) human behavior and physiology. Both domains are strongly linked, as most transportation systems involve humans. Consequently, the human factor is critical for designing transportation system. ​

Our goal is to dig deep in data science field processes and systems to extract knowledge or insights from data in various forms, either structured or unstructured, which is a continuation of some of the data analysis fields such as statistics, machine learning, data mining, and predictive analytics, similar to Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD).
